Approach: Confidence Coach ("Approach", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store it, and your rights regarding your data.
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:
Information you provide during onboarding: Your first name, gender, age range, and dating intent. This information is stored locally on your device using browser localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers.
Content you submit for analysis: Text conversations and situation descriptions you enter into the app are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI processing. Screenshot images you upload are sent to the same API for analysis. This content is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored on our servers or by Anthropic after the API request completes.
Conversation history: Your analyzed conversation history (up to 15 entries) is stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
Usage statistics: We store counts of how many openers and text analyses you have used. This is stored locally on your device for enforcing free-tier limits.
Subscription status: Your subscription status is stored locally on your device and verified through Apple's in-app purchase system.
Anthropic Claude API: Your coaching inputs (text and images) are processed by Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. See anthropic.com/privacy for their full privacy policy.
Apple In-App Purchases: Subscription payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/privacy.
Netlify: The app is hosted on Netlify's infrastructure. Netlify may collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps). See netlify.com/privacy.
All personal data (name, preferences, history, usage counts) is stored exclusively on your device using browser localStorage. We do not maintain a centralized user database.
Content submitted for AI analysis is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our serverless API proxy, which forwards requests to Anthropic's API. No conversation data is logged or stored on our servers.
Locally stored data persists until you clear your browser data or uninstall the app. We do not retain any of your personal data on our servers.

Approach is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it.
If you are accessing Approach from outside the United States, please be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States where Anthropic's API servers are located.
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email below.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (provided by using the service) and legitimate interest in providing the service.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
